What We Build
Whether it's replacing a blown-down fence or building a complete garden boundary with gates and decking, Jackson's works to a proper specification — concrete footings, treated timber throughout, and stainless or galvanised fixings that won't rust and weep onto the boards.
What We Build
Timber Panel Fencing
Hit-and-miss and panel fencing in treated softwood. Concrete posts or timber posts in concrete, correctly spaced and set to depth, with gravel boards to keep the base off the ground.
Closeboard & Featheredge
The most robust form of timber privacy fencing. Individual boards nailed to arris rails and concrete posts — far stronger than pre-made panels, particularly in exposed west-coast sites.
Composite Decking
Hollow-core composite boards in natural wood tones — no annual oiling, no splinters, no greying. Laid on a pressure-treated timber subframe with correct drainage falls and expansion gaps.
Treated Timber Decking
Pressure-treated hardwood decking for those who prefer the natural look — properly gapped for drainage, fixed with stainless fixings, and laid on a built-up frame with adequate ventilation.
Built for Scottish Weather
Scotland's west coast gets more rain, more wind and more freeze-thaw cycles than most of the UK. Fencing and decking that isn't specified correctly simply doesn't last. Jackson uses: concrete post sockets or concrete-encased posts (not just driven), treated arris rails and gravel boards, stainless or galvanised fixings throughout, and decking boards laid with adequate drainage fall and gap. These details separate a ten-year installation from a three-year replacement.
How It Works
- Step 1
Measure & Quote
Jackson visits to measure the boundary, check ground conditions and access, discuss panel or board style, and provide a fixed-price quote — no day-rate surprises.
- Step 2
Removal & Installation
Old fencing removed and disposed of. Posts set in concrete to correct depth, boards or panels installed, gate hardware fitted and adjusted. Ground made good on completion.
- Step 3
Clean-Up & Sign-Off
All off-cuts and old materials removed from site. Jackson walks the line with you to confirm you're happy before sign-off.
