Question 1

What areas do you cover?

Accepted Answer

We cover Ayrshire, Greenock and Gourock, including Ayr, Kilmarnock, Irvine, Troon, Prestwick, Largs and surrounding villages. Contact us via WhatsApp or the contact form to confirm your area.

Question 2

How do I get a free estimate?

Accepted Answer

Use our Free Project Estimate tool for an instant ballpark figure, or message us through WhatsApp, phone or email. For larger jobs we usually arrange a quick site visit.

Question 3

Do I need planning permission for a new driveway or patio?

Accepted Answer

Most domestic driveways and patios using permeable materials fall within permitted development. Non-permeable surfaces over 5 square metres or work in conservation areas may need approval; we'll advise during the quote.

Question 4

How long does a typical project take?

Accepted Answer

Small patios and fencing runs take 2–4 days. Driveways and groundworks typically take 5–10 days depending on size, drainage requirements and weather.

Question 5

Why is drainage important under a driveway or patio?

Accepted Answer

Water causes patios to sink, driveways to crack and fences to rot. We install falls, soakaways, French drains and compacted sub-bases to protect your surface.

Question 6

What materials do you recommend for patios?

Accepted Answer

We recommend Indian sandstone, porcelain paving and natural stone. Indian sandstone is traditional and warm; porcelain is modern, low-maintenance and durable.

Question 7

What's the difference between monoblock and tarmac?

Accepted Answer

Monoblock is individual blocks on a compacted base: strong, repairable and available in many colours. Tarmac is cheaper initially but harder to repair and less flexible visually.

Question 8

Do you offer any guarantees?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We guarantee our workmanship and use materials from trusted suppliers. Guarantees are confirmed in writing with your quote.

Question 9

How do payments work?

Accepted Answer

Quotes cover labour costs. Materials are paid for in advance. Further materials required during the job are agreed with you before purchase.

Question 10

Can you fix waterlogging in my garden?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Garden drainage is one of our specialisms. We assess the cause and install tailored solutions such as French drains, land drains or soakaway crates.

Question 11

Do you work on commercial sites?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We carry out commercial groundworks including NHBC-standard plot drainage, foundation prep and hard landscaping across Ayrshire and Inverclyde.

Question 12

How do I look after my new patio or driveway?

Accepted Answer

We provide free aftercare guides for Indian sandstone, porcelain, monoblock, block paving, decking and fencing. Download them from our Aftercare Guides page or sign up to seasonal care reminders.
